Calendar – Youth/Theater – Willy Wonka Auditions – May 20-21

Marquette – Lake Superior Theatre and the City of Marquette Arts and Culture
Center will be holding auditions for their upcoming summer production of “Willy Wonka Junior.” Preliminary auditions will be held on Friday, May 20 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, May 21
from noon to 4 p.m. at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center, located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library.

All interested students must attend the day of their choosing. Audition callbacks will be held on Monday, May 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 26 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center. If called back, students must plan on attending both days.

Youth ages preschool to 12th grade are eligible to audition. Youth actors, singers and dancers are all needed for a variety of parts. Those auditioning will be asked to read from scenes, sing a song, and possibly dance. A pianist will be provided. Those who do not wish to sing a song at auditions may choose not to do so. If interested, scripts are currently available for check-out from the Arts and Culture Center, but not required prior to the audition.

There is no cost to audition, but there is a registration fee to participate in the production. There are special family rates and scholarships are available. Performances will take place August 17, 18, 19 and 21 at Lake
Superior Theatre.
