Health Tip – Sept. 30 – Copy Your Kitty
Before you get out of bed in the morning, copy your kitty. Cats stretch after they have been sleeping. Then they get up to eat or play. Learn to do stretching exercises when you wake up. It boosts circulation and digestion, and eases back pain. Many stretches can be done before your feet ever hit the floor. Here are a few ideas:
Lie on your back, extend your arms toward the ceiling, clasp your hands together and turn your palms upward.
Put your arms over your head, pointing your fingertips to the headboard. Extend your legs out fully, pointing your toes to the footboard.
Extend your legs toward the ceiling. Rotate your feet clock-wise 10 times and then counter-clock-wise 10 times.
Tuck your knees up into your chest, then take your nose to your knees. Rock gently side to side.
Get on your hands and knees, then arch your back for 5 seconds. Release, then arch again.
