Definition:

1.  A body portion of muscle and connective tissue; specifically, the partition separating the chest and the abdominal cavities in mammals: diaphragm.

2. The mid-section of the human torso.

3.  A section of a woman’s garment that covers or exposes the midriff.

Sample sentence: Even the store’s winter line of clothing included many midriff-baring tops, albeit combined with oversized cardigans and  flannel shirts.
