Dee Dee – Word of the Day

Noun: Haplology  (hap-LAH-luh-jee)

Definition: The omission of one of two similar adjacent syllables or sounds in a word. (Example: Probly  instead of probably or libry instead of library.)

Example sentence: The speech therapist assured the child’s parents that the tendency towards haplology will likely correct itself with age.
