Perfect weather and great music! What else could you ask for on a Saturday afternoon?

Marquette Township  –  We enjoyed another day of perfect weather for the Fifth Annual Lions Field Recreation Area Catch the Vision Community Day in Marquette Township today.

The morning started off with a softball tournament and a street hockey tournament on the new rink! The Old Timers took the field in the afternoon for an exhibition game between Negaunee and Marquette.

Sunny FM’s own team, the Sunny Scramblers, took part in the street hockey tournament along with NHL left wing for the Boston Bruins, Justin Florek, who played with the Executioners.

Bliss Assist took home the title of 2015 Catch the Vision Community Day champs!

In the first street hockey match, Synergy Fitness did a great job but just couldn’t keep up with Bliss Assist. During the second match, the Executioners beat A Little Girl (yep, that’s their name). After a valiant effort in the third match, the Sunny Scramblers were left sunny side-up on the rink by Bliss Assist. During the championship match, Bliss Assist crushed the Executioners for the 2015 Marquette Township Catch the Vision Community Day trophies!

The Country Showdown kicked off the live music at noon on the big Great Lakes Radio stage down on the tennis court.

The Country Showdown is in its 34th year and singers like Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, and Toby Keith all took part in the Country Showdown, the largest country music talent search in the U.S. For more information about the Country Showdown and to see more great pictures, click here.
