Positive Thoughts for Back to School

Norman Vincent Peale was a minister and author with a great
ability to present the concepts of positive thinking and
attitude in easily absorbed one and two line messages.

Here are some of his great lines. Enjoy them and put them
work, learn from them, gain inspiration from them and
share them with friends, family and co-workers.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities!
Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own
powers you cannot be successful or happy.”

“When you get up in the morning, you have two choices –
either to be happy or to be unhappy. Just choose to be

“Those who are fired with an enthusiastic idea and who
allow it to take hold and dominate their thoughts find that
new worlds open for them. As long as enthusiasm holds out,
so will new opportunities.”

“Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude
toward it, for that determines our success or failure.
The way you think about a fact may defeat you before you
ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the fact
because you think you are.”

“Plant seeds of expectation in your mind; cultivate
thoughts that anticipate achievement. Believe in yourself
as being capable of overcoming all obstacles and

“The trouble with most of us is that we’d rather be ruined
by praise than loved by criticism.”

“What the mind can conceive and believe, and the heart
desire, you can achieve.”

“Do not be awe struck by other people and try to copy them.
Nobody can be you as efficiently as you can.”

Sometimes, the words of another person can help you
keep perspective, challenge you, inspire you, energize you,
or just make you think.

Quotes seem to condense lifetimes of learning into
bite-sized sentences and I hope these will
contribute to your pursuit of success.
