Peninsula Bank Breaks Ground For New Branch Office In Marquette, MI

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Peninsula Bank held  a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Marquette branch office Thursday afternoon in Marquette. The building site is located on the northeast corner of the McClellan and Baraga Avenue intersection.

Peninsula Bank plans to move its Front Street office from the iEconomy Building into the new facility in the early fall. The new building was designed by the Marquette County architectural firm of Integrated Designs.

“As a local community bank headquartered in Marquette County, we have a strong commitment to local businesses and contractors,” said Peninsula Bank President Michael Smock. “We will involve as many local providers as possible for the construction and landscaping,” he said.

“Construction began in April, and everything is on schedule for completion in September,” said Peninsula Bank Board Chair John Jilbert. “The bank has just completed its 125th year of service to Marquette County, and now we’re stepping into the future with this new building. It symbolizes our ongoing commitment to the Marquette County Community,” Jilbert said.

The new office will have convenient on-grade parking, drive-up services and 24-hour ATM access. The new location on major traffic arteries within the city will provide added convenience and accessibility for customers.
