Marquette, MIJuly 4, 2016 — The Fourth of July parade in Marquette was a HOT, and not just because the temperature was 84 degrees. The floats were bright, flashy and showed off a lot of exciting sounds! This year, Sunny.fm, 103FXD and WRUP were well represented for Great Lakes Radio. Todd Noordyk, our leader here at Great Lakes Radio Inc., was heading up our vehicles with Adam Carpenter from the Outdoor Show. Adam was driving a stylish Kawasaki Mule from Zambon’s in Marquette with  Miss Pre-Teen Great Lakes State and Miss Pre-Teen Upper Midwest in a boat behind passing out candy with smiles and waves.

Eric Tasson was driving the 103 FXD truck with Lane Dawson as his co-pilot. Premium Pole Buildings and Storage Sheds was behind them with our newest giveaway prize, the Steamin’ Summer Sauna, being pulled by the Gravedoni’s. Bill Tibor was following them in the WRUP van with Mike and Walt from the Sunny Morning Show saving the day and completing our line-up in the Sunny.fm van with flashing lights.

There was a fantastic showing of floats and groups on this sunny Independence Day. The Marquette Senior High School Band, Cheer and Dance squad was especially entertaining. Another parade favorite of mine was the Peak Gymnastics Group.

It’s a wonderful sunny day for celebrating the day The United States of America gained its independence. Let us know how you celebrated your holiday or any of your favorite attractions from the parade!
