2016 Harbor Fest Starts with Traditional Sailing Ships in the Lower Harbor!

Marquette, MI  –  August 26, 2016  –  This weekend is one of my favorite FREE annual festivals in Marquette! Harbor Fest is running in Mattson Lower Harbor today and tomorrow with great music, fantastic local food, and something a little more special.

This year, not only is the festival hosting music, food and fun events, but it also has some very old and beautiful ships sitting in our port! Three traditional sailing vessels have made their way into the harbor for the festival, El Galeon, When and If, and Pride of Baltimore II. These ships will be on display all weekend with tours of the vessels available. Adult tour tickets are $12 with kids (12 and under) at $5.00 per ticket.  The When and If will be open for Sail – Away Cruises all weekend, Friday thru Sunday. Each cruise has 28 spots with tickets on sale for $50 per person. When and If will be taking five different cruises per day including a Twilight Cruise and a Sunset Sail.

After checking out the new highlight of the festival, don’t forget all of the classic good stuff! Steinhaus Market, Vango’s, OutLanders and Senors’ will have food stations on site for when you get peckish. If you happen to stop at OutLanders’ tent, try the Mexican Street Corn; it’s amazing! There’s free admission and live music both days with the 906 Band making their way back to the stage to kick-off another Harbor Fest tonight at 9 PM!
