Mackinac City  –  8/31/16  –  Master Skipper Chris Sheppler said thousands upon thousands of excited people visited the Straits area this summer.  Visitors came from all around the world and enjoyed the Sheppler’s Ferry ride to Mackinac Island, which leave from either St. Ignace or Mackinac City.

This weekend also proves to be a huge draw with the famous Bridge Walk Monday morning 6am to 10am from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City. Labor Day morning is the only time each year that you can actually walk the 5 mile stretch. They even reduce traffic down to two lanes versus four during those 4 1/2 hours!
Chris Sheppler indicated people can then buy a round trip tickets on Sheppler’s ferry and go to the island and enjoy lunch and see the sights,  then board the ferry back to St. Ignace. This is one of the rare times each year people can leave from one port and come back to the other.
Sheppler’s VIP tickets are the best way to get to and from Mackinac Island!
Walt Lindala and Major Discount caught up with Chris this morning for a brief talk about how busy summer has been. Plus, they discussed some fun things to do in September and October including golf on Mackinac Island!
