Marquette, MI  –  November 30, 2018  –  We are both sad and happy to announce that Mike Plourde, a longtime Sunny.FM 101.9 radio show host put in his last day at Great Lakes Radio. Mike had a long radio career with Sunny.FM and our sister stations. He was well known as the Voice of the Ishpeming Hematites on WRUP 98.3 and for his past participation on The Sunny Morning ShowDumb Criminal, and most recently, Middays with Mike.

While Mike Plourde’s last official day at Great Lakes Radio is a sad day, we are also excited for him! With a career in Corrections followed by his radio career and position as City Commissioner, Mike has certainly worked hard and put in his time!

Now, Mike is headed off into retirement, so naturally, we had to throw a send-off party! This morning members of the Great Lakes Radio staff gathered in the conference room to wish Mike farewell and good luck in his retirement! Mike shared many fun stories about his time at Great Lakes Radio and calling Ishpeming Hematites football games for ten years in a row.

We will miss Mike Plourde around the studio, but we are sure he’ll swing by on occasion!

Leave your comments to wish Mike Plourde good luck on his move into retirement.
