Health Tip – July 7 – Homemade Remedies for Mosquito Bites

It’s that time of the year where we are out enjoying the great outdoors, and the great outdoors is enjoying us!  Mosquitoes love to take a bite and leave behind an itchy reminder.  Itch relief is as close as your kitchen or bathroom!

Salt seems to be the quickest remedy. Simply moisten the bite area and rub table salt on the moistened area. The itch should cease immediately.

Toothpaste is another one of the fastest home remedies for mosquito bites. Just dab a bit of toothpaste onto the mosquito bites and the itching should stop very quickly. Peppermint toothpaste is by far the best.

Ammonia is another one of the home remedies for mosquito bites that is a very effective “itch eliminator”. Apply ammonia on the bites.

Rub deodorant on the bites and the relief will be almost instant. This also works for other types of itchy bites.

A paste of baking soda and water is yet another simple itch relief.  For numerous bites, a warm bath with baking soda added to the water is great!
