Definition:

1. A tough lustrous silver-white magnetic metallic element that is related to and occurs with iron and nickel and is used especially in alloys

2. Strong greenish-blue

Sample sentence:  Cobalt was used for centuries to impart a blue color to glazes and ceramics before it was isolated by Swedish chemist Georg Brandt around 1735.
