Dee Dee – Health Tip

You may have read the health alert about the sneaky heart attack signs all women should be aware of. Didn’t catch it? Here’s the rundown: A recent study found that one in five women under age 55 doesn’t experience chest pain when she’s having a heart attack, so it’s important to know the less obvious signals. Here are two ways to stay safe:

1. Learn the indicators. Women’s heart attack symptoms differ from men’s. You may experience shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, weakness, or jaw, shoulder or back pain. If one or more of these starts happening to you, call your doctor.

2. Watch for small differences. If daily activities, like vacuuming, carrying groceries or making the bed, suddenly seem much more exhausting, notify your physician immediately. Overwhelming and out-of-the-ordinary fatigue could be a sign that you’re at risk of a heart attack.

Let’s get this warning out to women everywhere. Use social media to help spread the word. Ladies, forget the Hollywood heart attack. Look for subtle signs like fatigue, nausea, jaw pain, sweating or weakness.. The more we know, the better prepared we are to help our heart health.
