Noun: Anagnorisis  (an-ag-NAWR-uh-sis)

Definition: (in ancient Greek tragedy) the critical moment of recognition or discovery.

Sample sentence:  In terms of anagnorisis , the mythic, tragic realisation that prophecies were correct is only really the case for fictional characters, yet it is a continually attractive idea for those of us who know that our lives don’t have a plot.
