Carl’s Top-5 “Chick Flicks” for Guys

529

We’ve all been there guys.  “Let’s watch a romantic movie!”  If that isn’t in your top-20 things you don’t want to hear from your girlfriend, you need to sort out your priorities.  There are some movies, however, that a girl want to watch that has the negative connotation “Chick Flick” that aren’t really chick flicks.  They’re faux movies.  They’re PHONIES!  Score some brownie points by offering to watch these, and she’ll think she owes ya.  -Carl Leander

1.)  Mean Girls

Its funny.  That’s all you need to know.  They throw some morals in at the end to make up for how terrible these girls treat each other, but overall, it’s a comedy.  Tina Fey, Lindsey Lohan, Rachael McAdams (my favorite actress), and Amanda Seyfried do a fantastic job keeping everybody interested.  It’s #1 for a reason fellas.  “Four for you Glenn Coco, you go Glenn Coco!”

2.)  Legally Blonde

Definitely a chick flick, but its just as funny as Mean Girls.  Reese Witherspoon plays the ditziest blonde you’d ever imagine, but she’s also smart and knows how to combine the two.  It’ll keep you entertained and your lady will love it.

3.)  John Tucker Must Die

One of the cheesiest movies you’ll ever see.  If you can’t at least try to like it, you’ll fail.  Once you get past the nuances you’ll never understand, due to your male brain, you’ll get down to one stat:  The guy that is the “antagonist” of the film is the man.

4.)  Pitch Perfect

It’s basically “Glee” in movie form.  However, don’t let that scare you away.  It takes place in a college setting, so there’s all sorts of adult-humor that you’ll enjoy.  Give it a chance.

5.)  Meet Joe Black

This one is tough.  It’s long, dramatic, and very female oriented.  Brad Pitt is a great actor though, so you’ll appreciate it.  Your lady-friend will definitely turn on the waterworks by the end, but you should like the movie yourself.  The ending is pretty awesome too.
