Marquette, Michigan – November 3, 2015 – On the 8th Day’s Halloween show, Todd Paz spoke with Midday’s host DeeDee about the fourth annual trunk-or-treat and haunted house at the First Methodist Church.
You couldn’t miss the church on East Ridge Street with its parking lot full of people handing out candy to trick-or-treaters straight out of their car trunks from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Some participants got really into the Halloween twist by decorating the trunks in a variety of designs, like creepy mouths. Free hot dogs and beverages were also offered in the parking lot, giving the event a superb community feel, which DeeDee said was a goal in combination for raising awareness for the church.
Inside the church, a crew had worked long and hard for a week to transform an entire floor into a creepy cemetery, a foreboding forest and a haunted junkyard with spooky bats. DeeDee said the inside looked like an actual haunted house and its intensity was tame enough for multi-age group enjoyment. The haunted house featured fog, spiders, lots of cool special effects and tons of detailed items collected over the last few year. Though they kept it pretty dark, the glow and the dark footprints dimly lit the path as little eyes watched you cower in fright. If you were looking for things to moan, groan, light up and blink at you, you definitely hit the jackpot.
