Escanaba, Michigan – December 1, 2018 – Skip Dufour, President of the U.P. Steam & Gas Engine Association, spoke with Todd Pazz on the 8th Day radio show to explain the mission of his organization and the reason for their annual U.P. Steam and Gas Christmas In The Village coming this Dec 7-8th at the Antique Village, located on the U.P. State Fairgrounds, U.S. Highway 2 & 41, Escanaba, Michigan

The open house delivers family fun combined with old-fashion, genuine historic atmosphere. This year they plan to have “decorations, music, wagon rides, complimentary roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate and goodies galore.”  Visitors can expect to find not only “unique handcrafted items from a variety of local artisans and craftsmen,” but all shops in the Antique Village will be open, and Community Hall will be filled with additional vendors. There is also a can raffle and quilt raffle.”

Mission of the U.P. Steam & Gas Engine Association:

The preservation, restoration and exhibition of early steam engines, gasoline engines, tractors, farm machinery and other items of historical interest.

They believe that these implements are as much a part of the American heritage as the hardy men and women who used them in forging this great nation. It is lamentable that the unending march of time, coupled with the ravages of the elements and simple ignorance, has all but destroyed much of this machinery.

Hours:
Friday, December 7, 2018 ~ 12 – 7 PM
Saturday, December 8, 2018 ~ 10 AM – 7 PM

Admission:
There is no charge for Christmas in the Village. Instead, we ask that you consider bringing non-perishable food items or new unwrapped toys to donate to local charities.
