Negaunee Boys Take Fifth at Kingsford

694

Miners SymbolKINGSFORD, MI – 9/10/2014 –The Negaunee Miners boys cross country team has had a pretty good start to the season, winning one meet and taking second in another.  They continued to run well, but weren’t as successful this time around in Kingsford, as they came in fifth place as a team.

Leading the way for the Miners, however, continued to be Grant Johnson who took second place out of 111 boys at the meet!  Freshman Colton Yesney continued his debut season with the Miners taking ninth place out of the same 111.  Both placed well enough to earn a medal at the meet.  Also having a nice season for the Miners cross country team is freshman Clara Johnson who medaled for her second consecutive meet, this time coming in seventh out of 78 girls!

Coach Lisa Bigalk also wanted to recognize Nathan Krook as the “Miner of the Meet” for his performance during the race.  The Miners next meet will be on Tuesday, September 16th.  It’s a pretty big meet, as it’s the WIN meet, scheduled to start at 4pm!
