Negaunee Miners Hockey VS Gaylord Blue Devils on Sunny.FM

Negaunee, Michigan12/02/2017– The Negaunee Miners stayed home at the Negaunee sports complex to take on the Gaylord Blue Devils for their fifth game of this season. Negaunee came into this game with a 1-3 record while the Blue Devils had a 2-1 record. Tyler Young and Brady Guilbault brought you all of the live action here on Sunny.FM.

The majority of the first period was played down in the Negaunee end of the rink. The Blue Devils managed to keep the puck close to the net but Nolan Corman of the Miners did an amazing job as a goal tender. The teams defense to help out Nolan wasn’t the greatest for the first period and that allowed Gaylord to get their lead. By the end of the period, Gaylord had a lead of 1-0 with 26 shots while Negaunee only had 2 shots.
First Period Score:
Negaunee Miners- 0
Gaylord Blue Devils- 1

Tyler had commented that the difference between period 1 and period 2 was like night and day. In the beginning of the period the puck was being played more in the neutral zone, closer to the Gaylord side. The Miners had picked up their game and scored just as much as the Blue Devils during the second period. The Miners put a lot of pressure on the Gaylord end with a lot of good shots and passes as well with the PK. Gaylord still kept the lead at the end of the period with a 3-2 score and 35-14 shots.
