Manistique, Michigan 01/26/2018– The Negaunee Miners Boys basketball team traveled to Manistique this Friday night to take on the Emeralds. The Miners were 4-7 coming into this game while the Emeralds were 2-10. Drew Lindburg, of Negaunee, had to sit this game out because of the elbow to the face from the last game- feel better Drew. Unfortunately for Manistique, they only had five players for the whole game due to injuries and illness. Brady Guilbault had all of the action for you on Sunny FM.

Manistique won the tip-off to start off the game. Right after that, the Emeralds were fouled on a play so they went to the line to shoot two free-throws, making one and taking the lead. Jason Waterman, Miner, answered back with nothing but net. The Miners played great through out the first quarter, barely missing any shots. Towards the end of the first quarter, Jackson Sager had a quick 2 steals and 4 points for Negaunee back to back. 24-11 was the score at the end of one as the Miners led the Emeralds.
