MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  The environmental group Save The Wild U.P. is presenting a special celebration this weekend commemorating Lake Superior.

Waterpalooza is being held this Sunday at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park in downtown Marquette.  Heidi Gould, Outreach Coordinator with the group, joined the SUNNY Morning Show today to encourage listeners to come to the park on Sunday.

Gould says the event will feature a large water slide for the kids, a beer garden for the grown-ups, food and live musical entertainment.  Musicians include Skip Jones, Bobby Bullet,  Kittywumpus and more.

The event is being held in conjunction with Lake Superior Day as has been declared by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder just recently.
