Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Current Marquette County Undersheriff Mike Klein is running for the job of Marquette County Sheriff.

Klein joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about his recently announced candidacy for the post.

He shared some of his personal history as well as his background in law enforcement and explained why he is running.

Klein said one of the key issues he wants to address, if elected, is solving the “dark stores” taxation controversy because of it’s impact on county-wide municipal funding for departments such as the Office of the Sheriff.

He said another issue is establishing a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week the road patrol to effectively serve all areas of the County.

Klein talked about other experience he has in areas of fire fighting and emergency medical services that he would bring to the position of Sheriff if he is elected.
