MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan’s Junior U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow called in to The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this morning to discuss the impending expiration of previous version of the so-called Farm Bill this weekend.

The Senator discussed her continued confusion over the lack of a vote on the measure in the U.S. House.  Stabenow expressed concern over how the bipartisan legislation moved swiftly through the Senate earlier this year but would not be taken up for a vote by House.

Stabenow also commented on why she cannot figure out why the Speaker of the House does not want to move on the legislation until after the November elections, but she reiterated her stance on pushing for the legislation to be passed before the formal end of this legislative session.

The Senator also discussed her day yesterday meeting with World War II veterans from the U.P. in Washington, D.C. who had been flown in as part of the U.P. Honor Flights.
