MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette Township is hosting their 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting this Tuesday, November 27th with activities starting off at 6:00 p.m.

Chair of the Marquette Township Community Events Committee, LeAnn Kachmarsky, joined The SUNNY Morning Show today to preview the evening’s activities.

Kachmarsky says the Marquette Redmen Chorale will provide special music to kick off the evening at the Westwood Mall in Marquette Township.

There is a report that the Grinch will try to disrupt the holiday spirit, so the Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and Santa’s elves will be on alert.

Kachmarsky added that in addition to Santa arriving via fire truck, cookies and hot chocolate will be offered inside the Westwood Mall and Santa will be talking to the children.

Free horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered in the mall parking lot.
