Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Royales are back on home ice at Lakeview Arena this weekend to take on a new competitor.
Head Coach Jim Stanaway joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk with Mike Plourde about their series with the Detroit Fighting Irish.
Stanaway said they have never met the team on the ice before and they are looking forward to games, set for Friday at 9:00 p.m. and Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
Joining Coach Stanaway in the studio this morning was a new member of the Royales squad was Defenseman Cody Johnson, who comes to Marquette from North Dakota.
Johnson talked about his history playing the game and what he like about playing for the Royales in Marquette.
Stanaway also talked about a special benefit game they will be playing in Marquette at Lakeview Arena on December 5th with all proceeds raised going to the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.
