MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – President Barack Obama delivered his annual State of the Union address last night in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Senator Carl Levin called in to the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to comment on the President’s speech.

Senator Levin says he welcomed the President’s support of raising additional revenue to avoid damaging automatic spending cuts by closing tax loopholes for the well-off and well-connected.

The Detroit Democrat also praised the President’s plans to reduce tax incentives to move jobs overseas and by ending special-interest tax breaks.

Levin says he will continue to work with the administration and with members of both parties to achieve that goal.
