Upper Peninsula Honor Flight Gearing Up For Another Trip To Washington, D.C. With Area WWII Veterans

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Upper Peninsula Honor Flight is a part of the Honor Flight Network, which is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices.
Group member Paula Waeghe and World War II veteran Joe Drobny stopped by the SUNNY studios recently to talk about the program and more.
Waeghe explained that the group flies Upper Peninsula WWII veterans to see the WWII Memorial that stands in their honor in Washington, D.C.
World War II veteran Joe Drobny described his experience of taking the trip the last time it was offered and also encouraged those surviving WWII vets who can still make the trip to do so now.
This “Tour of Honor” is FREE to the veteran. Airfare, meals, deluxe tour bus,t-shirt and other items are provided at no cost to the veteran and the group is setting up for another flight soon.
