Rio Tinto Hosts Community Forums In Marquette And Baraga Counties

    MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Rio Tinto is hosting a series of community forums this month throughout Marquette and Baraga counties on the Eagle Mine project.

    Dan Blondeau, spokesperson for Rio Tinto, joined The SUNNY Morning Show to discuss the public forums, which begin tonight in Ishpeming ast the Country Lanes and Entertainment Center Conference Room.

    Blondeau says the forums are set up for attendees to learn more about the status of Eagle Mine, participate in it’s Community Scorecard process, and meet with Eagle representatives.

    Other forums will be held on the following dates and locations: Thursday, May 9th – Humboldt Township Hall, Tuesday, May 14th – Marquette Ramada Inn, Wednesday, May 15th – L’Anse American Legion, Tuesday, May 21st –  Michigamme Township Hall and Wednesday, May 22nd – Powell Township School.

    Blondeau added that all forums will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM with additional time aside after each forum for discussion.
