Northern Michigan University President David Haynes Reflects On Academic Year And Also Looks Ahead

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Northern Michigan University President David Haynes joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this week to look back on some of the highlights of the recently concluded academic year at the Marquette school.

President Haynes discussed the recent groundbreaking for the Jamrich Hall project on campus and what the latest is with the construction effort.

He also talked about the new NMU Wildcat Men’s Basketball Coach Bill Sall who is coming to Northern from Ferris State University with 11 seasons as the head coach of FSU from 2002-13.

Under Sall’s direction, FSU won four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Titles and and reached the NCAA Division II Tournament three times, including a pair of regional championship game appearances.

President Haynes also focused on enrollment and recruiting efforts currently underway at NMU and how they are going to be stepped up over next several months.
