MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The YMCA of Marquette County is expanding services and it’s facility in the Western portion of the county.

Lisa Coombs-Gerou, CEO of the YMCA of Marquette County,  and Jack Frost, Chief Financial Officer of Range Bank, joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to announce relocating and expanding the Negaunee YMCA from its current location to the Range Bank building located at 350 Iron Street.

Coombs-Gerou says the move is coming after about three years of research that identified the need to not only expand their facilities, but also their services in Negaunee.  She added that Range Bank was a major catalyst in this upgrade.

Frost said after some exploratory meetings, the Y agreed to pay Range Bank about $295,000 to purchase the bank building.  The Y will also spend about $500,000 on renovations.

Range Bank has agreed to finance the transaction and the new mortgage payment will be similar to the organization’s current rent.

The new YMCA facility will be about twice the size of the current west end facility and should open on January 1st.
