Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Debbie Stabenow, Michigan’s junior U.S. Senator, stopped in on The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today for an in-studio Washington, D.C. legislative update.

Stabenow spoke about her visit to Pathways in Marquette to discuss her current initiative focusing on de-stigmatizing mental health issues and increasing access to their treatment.

She also talked about various aspects of tourism including Great Lakes protection, beach management and lighthouse support and their impact on the Upper Peninsula.

The Senator talked about the legislative round and round going on concerning the Farm Bill and why it’s important for residents in the U.P. to see that the legislation passes.

Stabenow also voiced her frustration with the current state of politics in Washington, D.C. and how it’s getting better in the U.S. Senate, but remains abysmal in the U.S. House.
