Vietnam Veterans To Be Recognized At Special Ceremonies

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain and the VA Vet Center in Escanaba will be holding Vietnam War Commemoration events on Tuesday, March 29th to thank and honor Veterans of the Vietnam War and their families.

Brad Nelson, Public Affairs Officer with the VA Medical Center, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this week to encourage Vietnam era veterans, their families, and the general public to attend.

Nelson said The VA Medical Center will be holding a ceremony at 1 p.m. central time in Fornetti Hall at Bay College West in Iron Mountain, while the Escanaba Vet Center will be holding a program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. eastern at the American Legion Post 71 in Gladstone.

Nelson said the activities are part of the National Vietnam War 50th Commemoration, whose website is www.vietnamwar50th.com, and questions regarding the Vietnam War Commemoration events may be directed to him at (800) 215-8262, extension 32001, or the Escanaba VA Vet Center at (906) 233-0244.
