Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the legislative session that just wrapped up for the Holidays.
The Escanaba Republican discussed the bicameral and bipartisan legislation he and State Representative John Kivela of Marquette have been working on that creates an economic development zone in the central U.P. focusing on Delta and Marquette counties.
Casperson also talked about the controversial so-called “abortion-rider” insurance legislation and how it came to be veto-proof as a voter-initiated measure.
He also mentioned how a ballot-based referendum on the issue could still overturn it in the next election.
The Senator also talked about his “NO” vote on the measure looking to make it easier for telephone service providers to terminate landline-based phone service to customers.
