Culinary Students Of NMU Host Chili Challenge

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Culinary students at Northern Michigan University are holding the fourth annual Memorial Chili Challenge tomorrow on campus.

The event will run from from 3-5:30 p.m. at the Jacobetti Complex.

Kelsey Halverson, Vice President of The Culinary Students of NMU, joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to talk about the event and invite all listeners to come and take part.

Halverson said the tasting includes unlimited chili samples, corn bread and chili-inspired desserts.

Admission is $5 for students and $7 for the general public with all money raised benefitting Beacon House’s Fresh Food Program, designed to provide guests with fresh and healthy food during their stay.

Kelsey added that there are two classes: professional and amateurs, with prizes being awarded in the following categories: best use of heat, most original, people’s choice and judge’s choice.
