First-Ever Iron Range Roll This Weekend In Marquette County

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The group, “40 Below Young Professionals of Marquette County”, is proud to host the inaugural “Iron Range Roll” this Saturday in Marquette County.
Group member Dave Nyberg joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to explain that the relay/run/bicycle event celebrates the heritage and recreational culture of Marquette County in the name of giving back to our community’s youth.
The event benefits the the YMCA of Marquette County’s “Reach & Rise” youth mentoring program.
Program coordinator Melissa DeMarse from the YMCA also joined the morning show to talk about history of the mentoring program and what it is all about.
Nyberg said the course runs along the Iron Ore Heritage Trail from the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum in Ishpeming to the Marquette Commons and community enthusiasts of all ages will be able to participate in the downhill excursion on foot, bicycle, or as part of a relay team.
He added that the event kicks off this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with an Opening Ceremony and Start at the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum in Ishpeming.
