Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Saturday is Flag Day and the Marquette Lodge #405 is performing a Flag Day Ritual at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, 425 Fisher Street, Marquette.

Bob Wellman of the Marquette Elks joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to encourage listeners to come to the event and learn about the history of the American flag.

Wellman explained that the event is at 1:30pm at the Jacobetti home and is open to the public.

Attendees will hear the history of the American flag and the role it has played in American patriotism.

Wellman added that the event is also a great opportunity for the public top come and thank our veterans for their service.

The Ishpeming Elks Lodge #447 and Negaunee Elks Lodge #1116 will assist with the program.
