Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Tribal law and economic development are becoming increasingly connected as businesses and tribal communities explore partnerships to grow economic strength and stability.

A special presentation focusing on issues related to these partnerships is being held this Wednesday evening on the Northern Michigan University campus.

Earlier today, presenter Jana Simmons, NMU graduate and Attorney at Law, joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to preview her presentation and encourage all interested in such business partnerships to attend the session.

Simmons said she will share an overview of the history of tribal law in the U.S. as well as using the understanding of Native American concepts and attitudes in sparking new ideas and markets.

She is also discussing opportunities and strategies for entrepreneurs to use in attracting business partners in the Native American community and beyond.

The free presentation is open to all interested members of the community and is being held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Whitman Hall Commons at NMU.
