Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A winter clothing drive is being completed this weekend in western Marquette County.

The 7th Annual “Project Keep Kids Warm” is coordinated by Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming and St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Negaunee and will benefit needy families in western Marquette County.

Project coordinator Dick Derby joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this morning to recap the overall event.

Derby says the drive kicked off last Saturday morning with the distribution of thousands of shopping bags in Negaunee, Ishpeming and West Ishpeming by a large group of volunteers.

The bags included a message attached explaining the clothing drive and what items for children from 0 to 18 years of age are being collected.

Those bags (filled by you with proper winter wear for children) will then be picked up by the same volunteers this Saturday from 10am to Noon.
