Ishpeming Public Schools Superintendent Carrie Meyer

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Ishpeming Public Schools have started off the year with some surprising developments.

Superintendent Carrie Meyer joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today and explained that enrollment numbers were higher than expected for this year, and the district has over 800 students for the first time in a few years.

Meyer also gave an update on the M-STEP standardized test results for the students in the district, and she also shared the latest on construction and facility upgrade projects at the Ishpeming Schools.

She also talked about a district-wide initiative to train educators in suicide prevention and other mental health concerns that students might be dealing with.
