Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Damage assessment and clean-up is underway today after heavy overnight rains resulted in flooding in many areas of Marquette County.

State Police at Regional Dispatch in Negaunee Township say US-41 remains closed between Heidtman Road and Yalmer Road.

Southbound US-41 traffic is being routed down County Road 480, while northbound US-41 traffic is being routed onto M-94 East.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says M-94 between County Road 545 and Engman Lake Road, about 2 miles west of US-41 in Skandia, is a complete washout and the road is closed indefinitely.

Authorities add that Green Garden Road and Mangum Road are both closed as well.

Motorists are advised to limit travel in these areas if possible until conditions improve.
