Gwinn Schools Superintendent Dru Milliron

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Gwinn Community Schools are currently looking into re-opening a shuttered elementary school and more.

Superintendent Dru Milliron joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today as part of the regular Tuesday Superintendent Series to give listeners a full update on what’s happening with the Modeltowners.

Milliron explained that the district is doing a feasibility study into the possible re-opening of the Gilbert Elementary School to address classroom overcrowding.

He also gave some insight into the development of a sinking fund millage proposal they hope to bring to voters in August to help cover upgrades to learning technologies and the bus fleet.

Milliron also talked about the girl’s high school basketball playoffs being hosted at the Gwinn high School and the success of the performing arts program and how it benefits students.
