Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Women, Leadership, Inquiry, Action, or WLIA, is a new Northern Michigan University initiative that will present “Conversations about Graduate School” at NMU.

Event coordinator Heather Pickett joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to encourage all interested women to attend the session.

Pickett, who is the Director of the McNair Scholars Program and the Freshmen Fellows Program at the University, said the event features a panel of women on the NMU faculty and is free and open to the public.

Pickett said the group seeks to empower women to pursue advanced degrees and foster a spirit of mentoring among professional women at NMU and in the surrounding Marquette community.

The presentation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, March 23, on campus in room 1322 of Jamrich Hall.
