Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Heavy and wet snow moving from western to north central Upper Michigan overnight has caused some travel problems this morning.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Marquette, Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Iron counties through the morning hours.

The National Weather Service says snowfall rates of over one to two inches per hour have occurred early this morning across central Upper Michigan.

This has produced heavy and very wet snow accumulations of up to 6 inches over just a few hours.

This has made travel quite hazardous through daybreak.

Allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination if traveling this morning.
