Public Meeting Tonight On Marquette Township Roundabout And Tunnel Project

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A public meeting is happening today to discuss a planned reconstruction and roundabout project on US-41 in Marquette Township.

    The session is hosted by Township officials as well as M-DOT and the D-N-R., and will focus on the highway project, a proposed multi-use trail with a tunnel under a section of the highway.

    Township Planner Jason McCarthy joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to talk about the session and encourage all interested listeners to attend.

    McCarthy said there will be a short presentation at 5:00 p.m. followed by a question-and-answer period. Attendees will also have chances to speak directly with officials.

    The $6.7 million highway project is planned for 2019 and another $2.5 million is estimated for the proposed multi-use trail and tunnel.

    The meeting runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Marquette Township Hall on Commerce Drive.
