Physical Therapist Jeanette Tousignant with Active Physical Therapy

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – In our latest Active Physical Therapy update, Mike Plourde sat down for a chat with Physical Therapist Jeanette Tousignant about whiplash.

Tousignant said while whiplash is usually associated with major traumas like an automobile accident, it can happen when you are engaging in normal day-to-day activities.

She said any quick, sudden jerking or snapping of the head can result in whiplash to the neck, and it could happen during activities ranging from workouts and playing sports to something as innocuous as sitting down too fast or firmly in a chair.

Tousignant outlined some of the things to look for if you suspect you have sustained a whiplash injury and how a focused regimen of physical therapy can help with both recovery and prevention.
