Marquette Township Seeking To Involve Businesses In Improvement Projects

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette Township officials are looking at involving business owners in the Township in planning for the upcoming M-DOT 2019 and 2021 US41/M-28 highway corridor improvement projects.

Township Planner and Zoning Manager Jason McCarthy joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to discuss the effort and it’s goals.

McCarthy said it is a good time for the interested businesses to get involved to make the renovation projects all-encompassing.

He said the projects will not only be about the resurfacing of the highway, but will also include the sub-surface crossing tunnel project, safe lighting for pedestrian movements near housing and entertainment venues and more.

McCarthy added that there will be public informational meetings in the Township Community Room to explain the benefits and seek input regarding the 2019 and 2021 M-DOT projects on Tuesday, February 13th at noon and again at 5:30pm and Thursday, February 15th at Noon and again at 6:30pm.
