Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio) – The Mr. Upper Peninsula Pageant, a comedic contest and cultural celebration, put on annually during Negaunee’s Pioneer Week by Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council is coming soon to the stage of the Historic Vista Theater.

Eliisa Gladwell, PAAC Board Member, and reigning Mr. U.P., Robert Kemp, joined the Sunny Morning Show today to preview the pageant.

Gladwell said the evening is a fun affair that features men from throughout the U.P. in a series of events competing for the crown, the title of Mr. Upper Peninsula, and other great prizes.

Kemp said it has been a good year for him as Mr. U.P., adding he’s been able to do a decent amount of work with area charities while serving in the role.

The Mr. Upper Peninsula pageant is Friday, July 13th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Vista Theater in Negaunee.
