M-DOT Hosts Public Meeting Tonight In Marquette To Discuss Major Road Project

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Michigan Department of Transportation is hosting a public meeting tonight on a major road construction project scheduled for later this year in Marquette County.
Andy Sikkema, with the M-DOT Ishpeming Transportation Service Center and Al Anderson, M-DOT Construction Engineer, joined Walt Lindala this morning to preview the meeting and discuss the project.
The project will run from this spring into early fall on US-41/M-28 between Marquette and Harvey. The project will feature the reconstructing of the highway from the Carp River in Marquette to Bayou Street in Harvey, and resurfacing the highway from Bayou Street to the US-41/M-28 intersection in Harvey.
This project also will include construction of a multi-use pathway along Lake Superior.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 tonight at the Citizen’s Forum at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
