Marquette Police Encourage Safe Driving After Busy Holiday Weekend

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – School will be back in session this Tuesday, and Marquette City Police are encouraging drivers to be ready for extra traffic and to drive carefully.

MPD Captain Mike Laurila joined the Sunny Morning Show today to share some tips about being ready for a busy Tuesday morning on the roads.

Laurila also talked about some recent traffic signal and signage changes in the City of Marquette including on Peter White Drive around Presque Isle Park.

He explained why a series of “No Parking” signs were installed a few weeks ago near the Black Rocks and Sunset Point areas on the Island  and how the police department will be addressing violators.
